Amelia Musical Playhouse is very excited to announce auditions for the popular musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, by Clark M. Gesner. Auditions will be held on Thursday, Feb 15 at 6:00pm at AMP, 1955 Island Walkway, Fernandina Beach FL 32034. The show, directed by Ann Walsh, will run June 6, 7, 8, 9, and 13, 14, 15, and 16. Young adults/Adults interested in auditioning will be asked to sing a portion of a song and recite a short monologue(30 sec or so, does not have to be memorized). There will be a children’s ensemble for ages 7 and up; interested children will be asked to sing a portion of a song as well.
Synopsis: Charlie Brown and the Peanuts characters explore life’s great questions as they sing, dance, and work their way through a series of vignettes based on the Charles Schultz comic strip. A tentative rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions.(Based on cast conflicts this may be modified)
Characters :
*CHARLIE BROWN…………a lovable loser, determined to try his best against all odds.
*SALLY BROWN…………….innocent?!, highly intense and intelligent, sweet but a skeptic, loves Linus
*LINUS VAN PELT………….Lucy’s thumb sucking, blanket dependant younger brother. Juvenile though mature, unusually smart
*LUCY VAN PELT…………crabby, opinionated, actually a good friend to Charlie, but often misguided and pushy in attempts to help him; loves Schroeder
*SCHROEDER…………………very serious about music and loves Beethoven. Could care less about Lucy’s love for him
*SNOOPY(m or f.)…………….physically demanding role. Smart, wise cracking, joyous
*ENSEMBLE………………….various characters, including Woodstock, Peppermint Patty, Pigpen, Marcie, and others, plus a children’s ensemble
