Come take a break from depressing world news with a staged reading of the Broadway comedy Social Security by Andrew Bergman presented by Amelia Musical Playhouse on Wednesday afternoon, July 20 at 2:30 p.m.
Comic sparks really fly as a family deals with a sexy college student daughter, a humorously demanding mother (Sue Weiner) and the sibling rivalry of two sisters (Jan Cote-Merow and Ann Walsh) who try to balance family life and keep their husbands (Bob O’Hara and Keith Johnston) under control while taking care of mom!
Cupid makes a surprise entrance when the mother hits it off with a legendary artist (Frank O’Donnell) who comes to dinner. Riding under the surface of all the characters’ lives is a desire to feel the pulse and energy of life! A delightful play with a heartwarming message.
